Wolf-Rayet | Nasty 1

Why in news?

NASA’s Hubble space telescope has spotted a weird star in our galaxy and has been nicknamed “nasty” owing to its behaviour never seen before.

First discovered several decades ago, "Nasty 1" was identified as a Wolf-Rayet star, a rapidly-evolving star that is much more massive than Sun. But now it does not behave like a normal wolf-rayet star.

What do Nasty1 and Wolf-Rayet mean?
