Why in news?
Health Minister Shri J P Nadda holds meeting to review “Kayakalp”.

What is KAYAKALP?

• It is an initiative to improve public health facilities under “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”
• By generating awareness and attitudinal change towards cleanliness

Suggestions (of the review committee):

• personal round by the health officials in hospital premise can improve the cleanliness situation. 
• health institution should invite people, NGOs, voluntary organisations etc., to participate in this endeavour and share the responsibility for cleanliness of the health facility.
• motivational incentives such as awards should also be instituted for them. 
• the induction training as well as on the job training for the housekeeping staffs are also needed for the success of this initiative
• decentralisation and self-decision should be promoted with in the hospital administration. 
• emphasized on the establishment of a corpus fund at hospital level for providing greater flexibility to the hospital administration.
